Ghana: Supreme Court Orders Two Banks To Clear Woyome’s Accounts

The Supreme Court has ordered two banks in Accra, to use all the money in Mr. Alfred Agbesi Woyome’s account to defray the GHC51.2million judgement debt he owes the state. Mr. Justice Annin Yeboah gave the order when three financial institutions appeared before him on Thursday, to give the statement of account of the judgement debtor (Woyome) following a garnishee order he granted the Attorney General’s Department about 10 days ago.

Tamale: 125 taxi drivers defect to NPP

125 taxi drivers in the Tamale Metropolis have defected from the ruling National Democratic Congress to the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), saying, they regret supporting the NDC. Prince Kwame Tamakloe said the disappointed taxi drivers bemoaned the rampant increment of petroleum products, killer taxes, utility tariffs among other outrageous polices under President Mahama which they claimed is making life unbearable.

Kumasi: Blindman commits suicide

In a strange move, a middle aged blind man who could not cope with life as a result of a separation with his wife has allegedly committed suicide by hanging in Kumasi. Mobila Yanam, said to be in his 40s had tried two suicide attempts in the past. He was said to have drunk some poisonous substances in the earlier attempts but was treated at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and became blind about three years ago.
