10 People Quarantined On Suspicion Of Ebola Related Death In Nigeria: WHO

Lagos - A man who died in the southeast Nigerian city of Calabar did not have Ebola, the World Health Organization said on Friday, after 10 people were quarantined as a precaution. Cory Couillard, from the WHO African Region, told AFP in an email that the "laboratory investigation for EVD (Ebola Virus Disease) and Lassa fever turned out negative". The patient at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital died on Wednesday, the WHO confirmed earlier. He was reported locally as being a suspected Ebola case, although his symptoms were not specified and his travel history was unknown, it added. Kofi Adu alias “Odi Sika” A 30 year old drinking bar operator who allegedly sold toffees suspected to be laced with cannabis, a narcotic drug, has been arrested and kept in custody by the Ashanti Regional Police Command in Kumasi. “Odi Sika” who operates a drinking pub at Ahinsan in Kumasi was arrested by the police on September 29, 2015. He was uncovered through a search conducted by the Regional Highway Patrol Team on the Konongo-Agogo stretch of the Kumasi-Accra road. ACP Ampofo Duku said on October 4, 2015, the team intercepted a Nissan Urvan bus with registration number AW 2041-14 and during a search on the passengers, a locally-made pistol and one live catridge was found on Asiedu. He was arrested and admitted the offence in his caution statement.

Osei Kuffour Takes Over Asante Kotoko

Samuel Osei Kuffour has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of Ghana giants Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Re;iable sources within the Porcupine Warriors top hierarchy have confirmed that Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has given his blessing to Samuel Osei Kuffour's appointment. The Uefa Champions League winner takes over from Samuel Opoku Nti, who was recently voted as an executive committee member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
