Ghana: Electoral Commission demands more cash for 2016 election

Madam Charlotte Osei, the chairperson of the Electoral Commission, has insisted that the commission would need GH¢1.2 billion for the 2016 general elections, although an amount of GH¢822 million has been approved by the government in this year’s budget for the EC.

Several personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) have tendered in their resignation letters, Adomonlline.com can confirm. The officers, numbering about four hundred and twenty (420) tendered in their resignations in protest of the bad working conditions in the service.

Ghana: Has Government 'refused' to retrieve €25m Woyome Cash 3yrs after Supreme Court judgement?

Wife of the NPP flagbearer, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo, who was speaking at a forum in Accra has said that the combination of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, a laywer, and his running mate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, as an economist and banker, is a strong team to bail Ghana out of the economic difficulties we find ourselves.

She continued “I can also assure you that the combination of Nana Addo and Dr Bawumia [a former deputy governor of the Bank of Ghana] will be a great team for Ghana, so I am pleading with you [to] give Nana [Akufo-Addo] a chance this year and he will not disappoint you.”

“[I] give you the assurance that my husband Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will come and make things better for Ghana”. “We are all feeling the pinch at the moment; it’s a fact and we should accept it and we need a good leader, a better manager of this country, and I can assure you that he is the better manager for Ghana who will move us forward, so that we can have employment for our children who finish school, who are sitting at home without jobs. We can have a better economy”.

Ashaiman: Bedbugs, Mosquitoes Invade Polyclinic

Patients who are admitted at the Ashaiman Polyclinic have to battle with mosquitoes and bedbugs every night and returns home sometimes with malaria. 

Administrator of the Polyclinic, Nurudeen Isaaka Idrissu, made the disclosure when he received some 13 buckets of insecticide paints and disinfectants from Ernest Henry Norgbey, the parliamentary candidate of NDC,

Mr Idrissu appealed to other stakeholders and philanthropists to assist the polyclinic to provide quality healthcare for the people. The Polyclinic is the largest public health facility in the municipality.
