Ghana: Mahama on vote buying spree, abusing incumbency - GII

Anti-corruption group, Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII) says the distribution of outboard motors to fishermen by President John Mahama in the Western Region is worse than vote buying. It is akin to abuse of office, Executive Director of GII, Linda Ofori Kwafo told Joy FM's Francis Abban, Wednesday.

Video: Mahama's 'Spiritual Doves' refuse to fly

The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) brought doves to its campaign launch at the Cape Coast sport stadium in the Central region. The white doves which signify peace and one touch victory according to the party’s Central Regional Chairman, Allotey Jacobs failed to fly.

The ladies from the group, Doves for Mahama were heard in the video by Kofi TV expressing their frustration after the Doves failed to settle on the podium prior to President John Mahama address to party faithful.

“The doves are weak, we have held them for a long time” the lady said in the video. All attempts by the determine ladies to get the Doves to float in the air proved futile as the visibly weak white doves come crushing on the ground.
