 According to him, NDC General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia provided funds for the producer's medical expenses at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

A 52-year-old caretaker chief of Kpali, a border town in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District in the Northern Region, has allegedly been killed by Fulani herdsmen who attempted to cross the Black Volta into Cote d’Ivoire. Coffie Adams, who was on the Ghana side of the river to enforce an order by the chief of the area to prevent people from crossing the river at night, was shot at by the herdsmen, killing him instantly, while one other person sustained injury.

Three Regional Chairmen of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), in the Upper East, Brong Ahafo and Ashanti Regions, have filed a fresh suit at the Supreme Court, asking it to compel the Electoral Commission (EC) to furnish them with the list of all persons who registered with NHIS cards nationwide.

The Regional Chairmen say their request has become necessary in the light of the Supreme Court’s order in the Abu Ramadan case, directing the EC to expunge such names from the voters’ register. Speaking to Citi News, the lawyer for the three, Nana Obiri Boahene, said their decision is borne out of their desire to help the EC perform that role effectively.

Enugu: Six arrested with cocaine concealed in vegetables, shoes at Enugu airport

About six suspected drug dealers were  nabbed by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, AIIA Enugu state. Pictures and videos emerging from flood prone zones such as Circle, Kaneshie, Abossey Okai, Mamprobi, Madina, Weija and several other places show people trapped in the rains. In Kaneshie, people have had to employ the services of heavily built men who carry them to cross the floods. The Dzorwulu portion of the N1 Highway is also flooded causing several cars to be trapped on the route.
