Akuse: 25yr old woman commits suicide

Mawupemor Kisseh, a 25-year-old mother of one has hanged herself at Battorkordzi, a suburb of Kpong in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality in the Eastern Region. Mawupemor hanged herself with a rope in her rented room last Saturday. According to the Akuse Divisional Commander of the Ghana Police Service, Mr. Francis Ackaah, around 12 noon on Saturday, the police had information that someone had committed suicide by hanging at Battorkordzi.

He said the police rushed to the crime scene and took the body to the Akuse Government Hospital. He said the police took statements from some of the tenants and relatives of the deceased as part of their investigations.

According to her mother, Comfort Kisseh, Mawupemor had a problem with her former boyfriend, Kamal Abdulai, who also resides at Kpong, prior to her death. She, therefore, said she was highly suspicious that the boyfriend had a hand in her daughter’s death.
