The Ayawaso East constituency organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ismaila Ali Horoya, has been arrested by British security agents in London for transporting cocaine into that country. His arrest has been confirmed by the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Joseph Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo, after weeks of speculations, with NDC members not ready to broach the topic.

Sekyere Odumase: Two killed as Fulanis clash with residents

Two people have reportedly been killed in fresh clashes between residents of Sekyere Odumase in the Ashanti region and some Fulani herdsmen who are resident there. The row was triggered Thursday afternoon following the killing of a commercial driver by some suspected Fulani robbers. The driver was reportedly transporting some market women from Ejura-where he hails from- to the Sekyere Odumase market when he was accosted and killed by the bandits.

British tourists were shocked to see crocodiles eating a man as they took a sunset cruise along the Zambezi River between Zimbabwe and Zambia. The group and their guide spotted the crocodiles feeding on something as they moved down the river from their camp on the Zambian side. When they got closer, they realised it was the bottom half of a human.

American researcher killed by elephant in Zambia

A 29-year-old American researcher has been killed in Zambia after she was trampled by an elephant. The woman, named by local media as Margarita Metallinou, was working in the Kafue National Park in central Zambia with two male colleagues when the accident happened at around 1.30pm last Tuesday.

Nigeria: Woman gives birth to conjoined twins

Abuja - An Enugu couple have expressed both shock and hope after giving birth to conjoined twin girls, Punch reports. The twins, Miracle and Testimony, are joined at the groin and despite their condition, appear to be two very healthy children. Despite admitting to initially being traumatized, the babies' father, Segun, has expressed optimism, saying that his faith gave him the courage to pull through.  Doctors have revealed that the twins share no vital organs and defecate and urinate normally, given that they have separate genitals and legs. The twins, who are still being treated at the Intensive Care Unit at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, are said to be visited by their mother every day.

Port Harcourt – Nigerians resident in Gauteng Province of South Africa have protested against the alleged extra-judicial killing of a 34- year-old man, Timothy Chinedu, by the police. Mr Mathew Okafor, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union in Gauteng Province, said on phone from Johannesburg that Chinedu was allegedly suffocated to death by the police after his arrest at 9.00 a.m. on Saturday.
