Brazilian prisoner's escape attempt stinks

A Brazilian prisoner has apparently attempted to break out of jail by diving head first down a communal lavatory in a Shawshank Redemption style escape. The  man trying to wriggle through an excrement-coated hole in the ground.
Wearing only a pair of shorts, he twists one way and then the next as it dawns on him that he is stuck in the clogged sewage system. It all ends rather less successfully than Andy Dufresne’s crawl through a sewer in the famous film starring Tim Robbins. In this case – thought to have been filmed in the Sao Paulo area – the bid for freedom ends when the prisoner is grabbed by the ankles and hauled unceremoniously out of the stinking hole.

He is pictured later in a cell, still covered head to toe in what is presumably human filth. As any visitor to Brazil knows, the fragile state of the sewage system means that no-one is supposed to flush toilet paper down the lavatory – let alone an actual person.
