A Russian tourist has been killed by a crocodile while visiting Indonesia. Sergey Lykhvar, 37, was reported missing last Friday while visiting the Raja Ampat islands of West Papua, where he had been planning to snorkel around the remote Minyaifun island.
Prasetyo Budiarto, head of search and rescue in the region, told reporters that rescuers had spotted a large saltwater crocodile trailing behind Lykhvar’s body when he was discovered.

Residents of a remote Indonesia village recently discovered what they believed to be an "angel" on a beach. A SUSPECTED cattle thief was set ablaze by some angry youth at Agortor, a community near Osuwem in the Shai-Osudoku District of the Greater Accra Region. The supposed kingpin of a robbery gang that allegedly attacked and raped a police woman and two bankers in the course of their robbery operations at Nungua, a suburb of Accra, has finally been arrested by the police. A 27 yr old man known as Sarfo who killed a pregnant lady at Ayiem in Amenfi central last week has been killed by angry residents.

The deceased, after his criminal act went into hiding until he was arrested by community guards who had been hunting for him.

The visibly angry youth after capturing him would not listen to pleas by elders of the town to handover over the deceased to the police, but went ahead and set him ablaze moments later.
Assembly member of the area, Raphael Akudbilla Messiah, roundly condemned the dastardly act by the youth and urged them to allow the law to take its course in such instances.

Accra: Nana Akufo-Addo to recieve Honourary Doctor of Law Degree

An Honorary Doctor of Law Degree will be conferred on the 2016 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, by the prestigious University of Fort Hare, Alice, Eastern Cape, South Africa, on May 5, 2016, as part of the University’s centenary celebrations.

The New Patriotic Party in the Ashanti Region has accused the incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC) of orchestrating the arrest of its Regional chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako also known as Chairman Wontumi. They feel the strings are being pulled by the NDC to have Chairman Wontumi behind bars so they can bend the rules in the ongoing limited voters’ registration exercise.

Bernard Antwi Boasiako, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, has been granted bail after he was detained overnight by the Police. The Asokwa District Magistrate court granted him bail in the sum of 20,000cedis with two sureties. One of the sureties should have a landed property or deposit an amount of 10,000cedis.

A strange explosion, in what eyewitnesses strongly suspect to be that of a bomb, has rocked Bolgatanga, Upper East regional capital.
