Ghana: Denkyira sever ties with MCEs over Queen Mother Endorsement

The two municipal and district chief executives for the Denkyira area have been cursed by the traditional authorities there for speaking up to the queen mother of the area following her endorsement of Nana Akufo-Addo. Nana Ama Ayensua Saara made news last week after she predicted victory for the NPP flagbearer during his campaign tour of the area.

Cape Coast : ECG cuts power supply to Cape Coast Sports Stadium on GH¢ 719,792.46 debt

Electricity Company of Ghana has disconnected electricity supply to the new Cape Coast Sports Stadium over GH¢ 719,792.46 debt. The disconnection is part of efforts by the ECG to recover monies owed it. The Cape Coast Sports Stadium was only commissioned in May by Ghana President John Mahama and has only hosted one international match- Ghana’s U20 against Ethiopia in an African Youth Championship qualifier. A Prison officer whose name was only given as Budu has committed suicide at Duayaw Nkwanta in the Brong-Ahafo Region. The 33-year-old deceased  is said to have committed the act in his room. Shocked residents, indicated that Budu as a prison officer also owns a printing press and two shops thus his conduct cannot be blamed on monetary issue.
