Police Chases Nurse Who Leaked Naked Photos Of Ladies He Had Sex With

The Northern Regional police are hard on the heels of a nurse at the Salaga Government Hospital for allegedly having sex with some girls who reported for medical attention and some pregnant women who attended the facility to be delivered of their babies. The suspect, Evans Okyere, also known as Mubarak, believed to be in his 20s, is also said to have taken nude pictures of the women. Okyere, who apparently got wind of his arrest, has fled the area.

Ghana: Court Chases NDC With Court Papers

After apparently refusing to make themselves available to be served with court documents regarding an action instituted against the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), the accountant, who was fired recently by the party, has secured a court order to serve the party’s officials by substitution. The accountant, Mathias Mokono Wilson, revealed in his statement of claim how the Mahama-led NDC government paid a total of over GH¢5.5 million to the Electoral Commission (EC), the reason for which is yet to be established – after which the party gave him the marching order to vacate the office.

Abuakwa North by-election set for March 29

The Electoral Commission has set March 29 for a by-election to replace the slain Abuakwa North Member of Parliament Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu. The move is in respect of Article 112 (5) of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana. The commission earlier dismissed reports that it had slated the election for April 5. A statement announcing the date for the poll said “Following the death of the Member of Parliament for the Abuakwa North Constituency, Hon. Joseph Boakye Danquah Adu and in accordance with Article 112(5) of the Constitution, as amended, the Electoral Commission will hold a by-election in the constituency on Tuesday, the 29th Day of March, 2016”.

Ghana: EC Sued Over ‘Bloated’ Voters’ Register by Kwame Boafo

A legal practitioner, Kwame Boafo, has filed a suit at the Supreme Court challenging the eligibility of some names on the voters’ register to be used for the 2016 general elections this November. Per the suit the EC and the Attorney General are expected to file a statement of defense within 14 days. Kwame Boafo, a member of the NPP, is seeking ten reliefs from the defendants which also include an order compelling the defendants to compile a new and credible national voters’ register for use in this year’s general election.
