The National Women's Organizer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is not happy with what she says is the continuous deceit of Ghanaians by the Mahama-led administration. According to Otiko Afisa Djaba, in his bid to clinch to power ahead of the November 7 general elections, President Mahama has resorted to vile propaganda just to throw dust into the eyes of the citizenry.
Her comment is in reaction to President Mahama’s chronicles of his unprecedented achievements in his last State of the Nations Address to Parliament. He touted what he said is the "fastest mobilization of emergency power in the history of Ghana" as one of the many measures put in place to resolve the crisis. The President also touched on the health sector, economy, infrastructural development and mentioned names of individuals who had benefited from a number of government interventions.
But Otiko Djaba on Accra-based Oman FM berated the president's state of the nation address describing it as an exercise in mediocrity. She indicated that President Mahama conveniently did not provide any credible information about the true state of the economy. The NPP Women leader who seems angered by the performance of the president said: “Mahama has the face of an angel but the heart of a devil; all he cares about is how to win power”. This notwithstanding, the NPP Women leader said there is hope if Ghanaians give her flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo the chance to change their fortunes. “We need a visionary leader like Nana Addo, who has the interest of the nation at heart to save us from this incompetent Mahama government” Otiko stated.
