Nigeria: The large pit where Boko Haram dumps victims

The Nigerian army says it has discovered a large pit where Boko Haram militants dump victims of their horrendous attacks in Jadda.

According to Daily Post, the army said this in a statement, adding that it also discovered and freed hostages.

“The fighting patrol team also succeeded in freeing the hostages and recovered an AK-47 rifle with registration number OF-4814, 30 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, 12 rounds of 7.62mm (NATO) ammunition, 14 Dane Guns, 1 motorcycle, 2 Solar panels and food storage facility,” read part of the statement.

Ghanaians abroad presses EC to vote in 2016 polls – PAM Group

Progressive Alliance Movement (PAM), the US-based advocacy group, which has sued the Electoral Commission over it’s failure to implement the Representation of the People Amendment Law (ROPAL), to allow Ghanaians abroad the right to vote, says it expects the law implemented this year, to allow Ghanaians abroad to vote in the November polls.

Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, Founder of the National Democratic Party (NDP), has been declared the Presidential candidate to lead the party in the November polls. The declaration was made by a representative of the Electoral Commission at the party’s conference held at the Trade Fair centre in Accra.

Four armed robbers suspected to be Fulanis from Burkina Faso have killed a sales assistant and a pedestrian at Zebilla near Bawku in the Upper East region. The robbers, who according to police reports took advantage of an unapproved route between Burkina Faso and the hilly district to unleash the attack on their victims inside the main market in the district capital, were wielding AK 47 assault rifles.

Nigeria: Fight over woman turns bloody in Kaduna

DAILY POST gathered that no fewer than six persons have lost their lives since the eruption of fight on Sunday night, while several others have sustained various degree of injuries.

Enugu – Confusion has been reported in Enugu State, following reports that Fulani herdsmen have launched fresh attacks in Umuchigbo, another community in the State. According to Daily Post, the attacks occurred while Inspector General of Police, IGP, Solomon Arase was at Nimbo community in Uzo-Uwani council area.

A mentally deranged woman has given birth to a bouncing baby girl in the bush. The woman believed to be in her 40s was seen cuddling the newborn at Effiakuma, Takoradi where she is said to have been pitching tenth for 4-years now.

The onlookers rescued the baby from her to a nearby Maternity Home for attention. Neighbours in that area say this is not the first time the woman has given birth, some neighbours suspected to be her relatives come for the baby.
