Ghana Is A Peaceful Country -Swiss National

A SWISS national, Mrs. Sirpa Amoah, married to a retired Ghanaian engineer for the past 40 years has observed Ghana is a peaceful country. Mrs. Amoah, an IT specialist was addressing guests during the celebration of her 60th anniversary which coincided with the 40th anniversary of marriage to her Ghanaian husband. She said, during the celebration, which took place at the Big Byte Restaurant in Kumasi that Ghanaians are very hospital and accommodating, hence she found it necessary to mark the occasion in Ghana, which gave her the unique and memorable experience than she could have in Sweden. Mrs. Amoah advised married couples to be tolerant, respect each other’s views, exhibit love and above all be God fearing, as these principles would prolong their marriage life.

An elated Mrs. Amoah disclosed that she has been in the country for the fourth time and would like to be conversant with the Twi language to enable her chat freely with Ghanaians. Speaking at the occasion, Mr. James Ernest Amoah, 77, noted that the rate at which divorce cases occur in recent times could be reduced or minimized if couples understood each other and allowed God’s direction to guide their paths.

Mr. Amoah, a retired engineer, has lived in Stockholm in Sweden for the past 54 years in their 40- year-old marriage producing two children, Patrick James Amoah, 30, a football administrator and Maxwell Apenteng Amoah, 24, a Businessman. The occasion was witnessed by personalities from all walks of life and Mr. Amoah’s family members, including Nana Brefo Apenteng, Ex-chief of Dompoase near Kumasi; Nana Konadu Brayie II, Bodede Queen mother of Kumasi and H. E. Daniel Ohene Agyekum, former Ghana’s Ambassador to the USA.
