Five persons have been confirmed dead after a taxi car they were traveling in collided with a Yutong Bus at K. Boateng, a community in the Amenfi Central District of the Western Region. The five include the governing National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Deputy Youth Organizer for Amenfi Central constituency, Brother Asiedu, the Odikro [Chief] of Nyame Bekyere, Nana Kofi Ntebene and three others yet to be identified. Confirming the incident, the District Police Commander for the Amenfi West and Central districts, DSP Kingsley Owusu Bempah said “the taxi car was traveling from Bogoso to Asankragua while the Yutong bus was heading to Accra from Assankragua.”
“Upon reaching a community called K. Boateng in Amenfi Central, nobody knows what happened but there was a collision. Suddenly all the male passengers in the taxi died instantly.” The Police are yet to determine who in the Yutong bus sustained injuries and their whereabouts.
DSP Owusu Bempah indicated that investigations have commenced into the incident while the bodies of the dead have been sent to a private morgue in the district. DCE confirms NDC man’s death The District Dhief Executive for the Amenfi Central District Peter Kwakye Ackah has subsequently confirmed the death of Brother Asiedu to Citi News adding that the NDC constituency executives are meeting over the issue.
