NPP Dares Allotey Jacobs in Central Region

Allotey Jacobs
Leaders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Central Region has dared the regional chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to carry out his threats of beating up members of the NPP. The NDC Central Regional Chairman, Allotey Jacobs, had allegedly threatened to physically assault members of the NPP, who dare assault members of the NDC in the ongoing limited voters registration exercise.
He purportedly made the threats while speaking on Kasapa FM in reaction to reports that some NPP’s errant youth physically attacked the NDC’s Director of Research for the Central Region, Dr. Ahadzi at the instance of the Member of Parliament for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo Markin.

But the 2nd Deputy Chairman of the NPP within the region, Kingsley Kofi Karikari-Bondzie in a statement warned that any member of the NDC who dares assault any agent of the NPP shall be dealt with accordingly.

He cautioned sternly that “anyone that uses his/her position as a member of government to bully, manhandle or beat up any of our agents would equally be dealt with.”

“For every single cooperative hand you and your party extend to us as partners for development, we shall reciprocate in equal measure but for every single member of the NPP, yourself (Allotey Jacobs) or any of your assignee slap, beat, boot, ambush or maim, we won’t hesitate to reply in double, triple or quadruple measure,” Mr. Karikari-Bondzie dared.

He vowed that “anyone that comes to the registration centre to disrupt the process and usurp the powers and authority of the registration officers would be resisted.” According to the ‘no-nonsense’ deputy Chairman, “The days of intimidation of NPP members across Central Region by the NDC are over.”

He explained emphatically that “In as much as we have pledged to protect the integrity of the voter registration exercise, we have also pledged to protect every NPP agent sent to the registration centre,” saying “We expect the police to also do their best to help protect the integrity of the process so that foreigners and minors would not take over our voters’ register.”
