Social Democratic Forum, a group of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), are warning the party to forget winning in the Volta Region if the members of the NDC in the region do not stop their lackadaisical approach towards the elections. According to the group, the opposition NPP is gradually gaining grounds in the region, and if care is not taken, the NDC may regret the turnout of the elections. Speaking in an interview with Nyankonton Mu Nsem, spokesperson of the group, Manaf Mustapha said, the residents are highly disappointed in government for failing to give them their fair share of the national cake. He said, they have observed with grave concern how the leadership of the party in the region, have failed to hit the grounds to campaign for the party.
He explained, the chances of the party in the Volta region winning a landslide victory is slim. The people he indicated have never turned their back on the party every election year, however, they have not seen any massive development in the region.
Manaf Mustapha said traditional leaders are now endorsing the presidential candidate of the NPP, Nana Akufo Addo, a situation he stressed is a recipe for disaster for the party in the region. President Mahama he emphasised is gradually becoming unpopular due to the current happenings in the region.
