Dr. Zanetor Rawlings has described the ongoing wrangling in her constituency over her candidature as a “baptism of fire” for her. According to the National Democratic Congress' parliamentary candidate for the Klottey Korle constituency, the law suit against her will not deter her from seeking to improve the lives of her constituents. The eligibility of the daughter of former President Rawlings is being contested in court by the incumbent Member of Parliament for the area Nii Armah Ashitey, whom she defeated in the NDC’s primaries. The MP contends that Zanetor is not qualified to represent the NDC in the area because she is not a registered voter.
Speaking at a Women’s conference organised by the SRC of the Koforidua Polytechnic, the medical doctor noted that even though she comes from a privilege home, life has not been that easy for her. "With all the issues going on politically and the court issues here and there, I don’t think I ever feel unsettled in the last 18 years of my life so for me Ghana is where I belong it’s been a baptism of fire in the recent year or so but it’s been worth it".
