Heartbreaking Confession : 'I kept the foetus in the freezer' - Nadia Sawalha

Nadia Sawalha has revealed more details about going through the heartache of suffering multiple miscarriages. During a segment about baby loss on Monday's Loose Women, the 51-year-old opened up about losing three babies during pregnancy while also revealing that she kept one of the foetuses in her freezer.
Joined by co-hosts Andrea McLean, Coleen Nolan and Jane Moore, she discussed the topic of whether or not they would be able to continue carrying a baby if they knew it wouldn't survive when born.

Andrea said: 'It's an incredibly difficult decision to make, but some good can come out of a terrible circumstance.' And Nadia then opened up about her own struggle, saying: 'When I had my third miscarriage and I actually had it at home and delivered it, I was just not right in my head. I don't know what would have happened if somebody had come and asked me at that point.

She went on: 'And you know I actually kept the foetus in the freezer. I didn't want it to go anywhere, there's this connection and I wasn't ready to let go.' The audience was notably shocked at her confession, and she responded to their gasps, quickly adding: 'It was four and a half months, only this big, but it's that connection. That lioness thing comes out.'

Finishing up the discussion, Nadia then revealed she and husband Mark Adderley had a burial for the child. The Loose Women hosts were touching on the subject of the news that surfaced at the weekend surrounding baby organ donation.

Nadia, who has daughters Maddy, 13, and Kiki-Bee, eight with husband Mark, has previously spoken openly about losing babies in pregnancy. In October last year, on an episode of Loose Women aired on National Baby Loss Day, she teared up when discussing her personal tragedy.
