Ghana: '...our economy is in serious crisis......' – Akufo-Addo

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party has described President John Mahama’s governance as woeful. Speaking to Fiifi Banson host of Anopa Kasapa in an interview, Nana Addo who turns 72-years-old today said every aspect of the country’s economy has been ruined by the Mahama-led administration. According to the former Attorney General, the several economic policies put in place by the erstwhile Kufuor administration has collapsed under the current government.

“We are all witnessing to what is happening in Ghana, things are not going on well. All the things Kufuor did without a single drop of oil has been ruined by this government. “Everything is in disarray, agriculture is not growing, manufacturing is in decline, and employment, reduction of imports into our country…our currency is weak, our economy is in serious crisis and he [Mahama] thinks he is doing well.

“Look at what is happening in Cote D’ Ivoire, in the last five years there has been a consistent growth...Kufuor left us in an economy that was growing at 8 nearly 9 percent and we are barely making 4 percent now, our economy is contracting not expanding and that is why there are no jobs for people,” Nana Addo said.
