London – Gruesome rape videos of Kidnapped Chibok girls have emerged, according to the Sunday Times of London. The report said that the United States and the United Kingdom knew about the whereabouts of at least 80 girls who were abducted by Boko Haram in 2014, but did not rescue them. The report said videos of the girls being used as sex slaves had emerged. Former British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Dr Andrew Pocock, revealed that a large group of the missing girls were spotted by British and American surveillance officials shortly after their disappearance, but that experts felt nothing could be done.
"A couple of months after the kidnapping, fly-bys and an American eye in the sky spotted a group of up to 80 girls in a particular spot in the Sambisa Forest, around a very large tree, called locally the Tree of Life, along with evidence of vehicular movement and a large encampment," Pocock was quoted
At the time of their disappearance, Prime Minister David Cameron described the kidnapping as "an act of pure evil" and promised the UK would "do what we can". In Washington, First Lady Michelle Obama pledged that her husband had "directed our government to do everything possible". Yet when some of the girls were located by British and American surveillance, nothing was done, Pocock reportedly revealed.
