Ghana: Corruption allegation against me will not stick – Mahama

President John Mahama has spoken for the first time describing as “baseless” the allegation of corruption against him. He has been accused of bribery and corruption by some Ghanaians, that he took a car gift from a Burkinabe contractor.
The New Patriotic Party has challenged the President to respond and clear his name. But responding to the charge, the President Mahama during his ‘accounting to the people tour’ told a gathering at Ashaiman in the Greater Accra region that Ghanaians are discerning and that the allegations will not stick.

"The allegation of corruption is baseless. Baseless accusations won’t win you the Presidency. Ghanaians are discerning and I believe come November 7, they will make their decision," he said.
