Cheryl Fernandez-Versini is taking legal action after a fashion journalist posted a picture online of her in the presence of a white substance. The image of the X Factor judge, 32, was taken on Monday evening - and subsequently deleted - in the bathroom at the London Coliseum, where she was one
of the many star guests at the 2015 British Fashion Awards. Shot in the reflection of the mirror, the singer appears to be washing her hands, but in front of her and slightly to the side are the three lines of a substance. The photograph was shared on Instagram by a fashion journalist at the awards ceremony, along with the caption: 'Sadness in her eyes.' The picture was swiftly removed from the writer's timeline. There is no reason to assume the white substance belonged to Cheryl, or that she was involved in drug-taking in any way. She was entirely unaware of the lines, which appear to have been left by a previous guest. The star has now begun with legal action to stop the photograph in question from circulating. A legal notice has been sent around to prohibit the publication of the photograph, directly from Cheryl's lawyers.
It is not even clear what the substance is. A source close to the star told The Sun: 'It's outrageous that someone in the fashion industry has taken a picture of Cheryl like this and posted it publicly. 'She absolutely despises drugs and any connection linking her to them is ridiculous. She was just using the toilet.' On Tuesday, hours after the image emerged and was deleted, she stepped out for an appearance on BBC Radio 1, putting on a brave face.
Banishing the chilly weather, the stunning star wrapped up in a knitted co-ord which arguably swamped her petite frame. While the look no doubt ensured the former Girls Aloud star was feeling warm during her visit, the over-sized patchwork design slightly overwhelmed the songstress. The quirky ensemble was comprised of a chunky knit turtleneck jumper and a harmonising skirt, both of which featured asymmetric hemlines. Entering the BBC Radio 1 studios, the star maintained her down-to-earth demeanor and perfect poise as she stopped to take selfies with fans, as well as signing autographs for her admirers.
