Leader of NPP HQ raiders an NDC man – NPP

A deputy communications director of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has revealed that the alleged leader of the group which raided its headquarters, Bismark Osei Danso is a staunch member of the governing
National Democratic Congress (NDC). Perry Okudzeto said this new exposé lends more credence to the claim that the Mahama-led government masterminded the ransacking of the party’s headquarters. His claim comes after the supposed leader, Osei Danso told reporters the raiders went to the NPP headquarters in the middle of the night for peace talks.

Claiming to be a former Assembly member for Odorkor Otitan and a member of the NPP, Danso said he had every right to go to the party headquarters and demand answers. Therefore, Osei Danso said he decided to organize some like-minded supporters to wait for their national executives at the headquarters. The ringleader who has also identified himself as an ex-serviceman said the peaceful operation turned chaotic because they realized the security officers guarding the headquarters, known as Invincible Forces, were armed so they decided to disarm them.

But Perry Okudzeto on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Thursday said Osei Danso's story is a palpable lie. He indicated that the account is just a ploy to tear down the NPP suspicion that government was behind the attack. “This man loads commercial vehicles at Odorkor station so where did he get the money to hire buses, pay about 400 people GHC50 each, print T-shirts and have access to police and military uniforms,” he quizzed.

Perry Okudzeto said though he will not be surprised an insider could have assisted them, government played a key role in the raid. Meanwhile, the 11 suspects including a woman have been granted bail by an Accra Circuit Court. They were charged with unlawful entry, unlawful purpose on private premises and causing unlawful damage to the tune of GHC28,000.
