Ghana FA Executive Committee Member, Albert Commey, has lashed out at traditional rulers for the lack of training pitches in the country, insisting they have sold all the lands meant for recreational centers for their selfish interest. The FA has been criticized for failing to use part of the annual FIFA Assistance Program funds to construct pitches for football development. “Our chiefs, they sell and even sell market places. They will sell all the places for recreational activities,” Commey said. “When you go to South Africa, go there and see vast lands reserved for sporting activities”, he added. This act has made some premier league clubs to locate their teams out of their own vicinity and have taken to existing properties to refurbish them for their activities.
