Maiduguri - Two suicide bombers were shot dead by the Civilian JTF(Joint Task Force) in Maiduguri on Friday morning, a source said. The two male suicide bombers who strapped IEDs on the bodies stormed Kusari area near CBN Staff Quarters in Maiduguri at about 6:45 am.
However, they were shot and killed before they could detonate the devices. A member of Civilian JTF, who participated in the operations, disclosed to Sahara Reporters that the men were sighted by vigilant elders who stopped and queried them about their mission in the area. It is believed that the bombers were targeting early morning prayers at a mosque nearby.
