Maiduguri suicide attacks foiled

An attack by three suicide bombers in Maiduguri on Friday, January 22 was foiled by the military just a kilometre into the troubled town, Nigerian troops fighting the insurgency in the northeast have recorded successes against Boko Haram fighters in recent times.

The Ashanti regional Police force, have launched manhunt for four highway robbers believed to be of Fulani origin who shot a police corporal at Kasei near Ejura in the Ashanti region. The 30-year-old Corporal Alexander Kyeremeh stationed at Bimbila in the Northern region was shot in the ribs for disobeying orders of the robbers to passengers to surrender all their possessions.

Corporal Alexander Kyeremeh 30, a police officer stationed at Bimbilla in the Northern Region met his untimely death last Friday afternoon when he was shot in the right rib by armed robbers suspected to be of Fulani descent. The incident occurred around 1pm on the section of the road between Ejura and Hiawonwu in the Ejura Sekyedumasi municipality.
