Angry residents, including women of Nahinso, near Kumasi, last Thursday, inflicted machete wounds on two men and burnt the Infinity salon car the victims were riding in. They suspected them to be members of a group that used human parts to perform rituals in the area. The residents laid ambush for
them for hours, when they got wind that the two men were on their way to the community. A reinforced police team, led by the Asokwa District Commander, DSP George Bawa, had to intervene to rescue the two men (names withheld) who are currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital. The victims, 28 and 50 years old, in a statement, conceded that they were into ritual practice but did not use human parts. The elder of the two told DSP Bawa that they had engaged the services of a mallam to protect a business they had started. But the residents would not take this, alleging that the two men were part of a group, numbering about eight, who visited an uncompleted building deep in the night with victims, whom they killed at the place. An inspection of the building revealed an abandoned idol, blood stains, a burnt talisman and other items. The group was alleged to have always visited the uncompleted building in flashy cars.
