A 28-year-old Livingstone woman, Marian Nyendwa has drowned in the Zambezi River after she was swept away by a strong current while swimming with her friend near Zambia Wildlife Authority (ZAWA)’s Dry Manzi Recreation Centre in the Mosi-oa-Tunya national park. Southern Province deputy commissioner

Mr Kapeso said Marian drowned on Saturday afternoon and a team of police officers and firefighters were still searching for the body “Ms Nyendwa drowned in Zambezi River on Saturday afternoon and the body is still missing. We don’t know where she came from but we have been told that she was swimming with a friend who is okay and we are trying to look for her so that she gives us more information,” Mr Kapeso said.
