Life Patron of Asante Kotoko Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is set to appoint a new board to replace the current one according to sources close to the club. Information gathered indicates that arrangements are being made in Kumasi to have the new board inaugurated tomorrow. Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the club's spiritual head and owner is reportedly unhappy with the abysmal performance of the team in the just ended league campaign and the negative media reportage that has persisted since the second round of the league. The board which is expected to be composed of five members will be headed by Dr Kweku Frimpong who will be named as the club’s executive director. The decision will bring to an end the tenure of current CEO of the Club Opoku Nti. The appointment of the new board is also expected to influence the technical direction of the team ahead of the new season.
