Six Child Traffickers Arrested In Jaman

According to the District Police Commander, ASP Stephen Ofori Akrasi, six persons has been arrested by the Jaman South Police Command, for attempting to traffic 22 children. the victims were recruited from Drobo, a town in the area, with the promise of securing them jobs in Accra. ASP Ofori Akrasi, indicated that the Police have begun investigations into the matter. “We arrested six people comprising two women and four men. We arrested them allegedly trafficking 22 people to Accra under the pretense of giving them instant jobs on the 3rd November, 2015. We were monitoring them and managed to arrest them. these culprits have been taken to the police station, where they are currently undergoing investigations.” In a related incident, a similar case occurred in March 2015, in the Volta Region where about ten children and a suspected trafficker were detained by the Nkwanta district Police.
