NDC Crippled My Business Because Of My Political Affiliation. – Wontumi

Kumasi- Bernard Antwi Boasiako, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) aka 'Wontumi',  has complained bitterly about the seizure and burning of his 500 excavators by National Democratic Congress (NDC), which led to the collapse of his multi-million dollar gold mining business. He disclosed that he used to make approximately $1 million daily from his lucrative mining business at several mining sites in the country. “I used to earn approximately $1 million on a daily basis from my mining business, but the money stopped coming when the NDC government seized and burnt some of my over 500 excavators which I was using to mine, crippling my business in the process,” he said. Speaking in an interview with Hello Fm, the NPP guru, said he did nothing wrong to merit such harsh and unexpected treatment from the NDC government, noting that he was only victimized because of his political affiliation. Chairman Wontumi said the NDC had unjustifiably collapsed the businesses of other top NPP businessmen, stressing the need for the party’s members to unite and campaign to ensure that the NDC is ousted from power in 2016. Wontumi stated emphatically that without a fresh and credible voter register, it would be extremely difficult for the NPP to topple Mahama administration, cautioning his party’s members not to fight because of the suspension of Paul Afoko. He said the government had imposed hardship on Ghanaians through the bad leadership of President Mahama and his bunch of inefficient ministers, stressing that Ghanaians have hinged their hopes on the NPP.  The Ashanti Regional NPP chairman therefore charged his party’s members to focus their attention and energy on ensuring the compilation of a fresh and credible voters’ register which would ensure victory in 2016. He said the recent suspension of the NPP’s National Chairman seemed to have diverted the attention of the millions of NPP members from the bloated voters’ register, which ought to be changed before polls 2016, noting “NPP needs to win election 2016. ”Wontumi, who was previously suspended by the NPP when he was the party’s constituency chairman for Bosomtwe in the Ashanti region, said Paul Afoko can reclaim his position through the party’s structures.
