Takoradi - Woman Poisons Her Daughters

Takoradi - Naana Amenenah , a 40-year-old woman has poisoned her two beautiful daughters at Essikado in the Western Region. The woman is believed to be mentally deranged. She is said to have laced her food
with some deadly pesticide for her children on Sunday evening which led to their untimely deaths. The woman has since been arrested whilst the bodies of the children, Maame Serwaa, 10, and Maame Fulba, 8, have been deposited at the Effia Nkwanta Hospital morgue for autopsy.
“The woman took good care of her children and made sure the kids were always clean and good-looking. She was very particular about the education of the children and made sure they always attended school,” a resident who wanted her name concealed indicated. “The whole community is in a state of mourning, as we woke up to the sad incident". They claimed Naana had separated with her husband some time back and was living with her sister together with the children at Essikado. Because of her condition, a court had ordered her husband to take custody of the children with effect from Monday November 2, 2015 before the unfortunate incident happened. The husband is a tutor at the Sekondi Senior High School (SEKCO.
