Supporters rented from different parts of the capital, Accra stormed the headquarters of
the opposition party NPP to protest the suspension of National Chairman Mr. Afoko.
His spokesperson has described the action
of the party as an illegality which must be reversed. However Perry Okudzeto, deputy communications director has said that, loyalists of the suspended chairman who besieged the party’s headquarters in protest against his suspension are not members of the elephant family, According to Perry Okudzeto, the scores of people who thronged the Kokomlemle national office of the party were bused and deliberately sent there to taint the image of the party, The crowd were also promised some 50 cedis each as compensation for their time and stress. “We picked up information that people who were not party members were being massed up and bused to the party headquarters,” Okudzeto told the media. Afoko is on an indefinite suspension after national executive committee of the party found him guilty of conducts inimical to the fortunes of the party.
