J. B. DanquahL: 'We heard struggles in the house' - Neighbours

Some neighbours of Honourable Joseph Boakye Danquah Adu have disclosed that they heard what seemed to be some struggle in the house of the MP, soon before he was allegedly stabbed to death. J. B. Danquah Adu was, on Tuesday dawn, attacked by unknown assailants and stabbed to death at his Shiashie residence in Accra. Earlier reports suggested that the MP was shot dead, but Police later confirmed that he was indeed stabbed to death.
The Shiashie neighbours of the late Abuakwa North Constituency MP say they made frantic calls to the Police, following what they suspected to be an attack in the MP’s house. They added that soon after making the calls, they saw the alleged criminals leaving through the main entrance to the house. Details are sketchy, but a ladder is reported to have been used to enter the house. Police have taken over the residence as they investigate the crime. The late MP’s wife left the house earlier this morning to another location to make way for investigations.

Meanwhile, Viasat1 News Online understands that two men have been picked up by the Police and have been sent to the Greater Accra Regional Police Headquarters. The two, a security guard and another man, are said to have been in the house when the attack on the MP occurred. His body was found in a pool of blood at his residence. J. B. Danquah was born on 2nd July, 1965. He was a chartered accountant by profession and hailed from Old Tafo, in the Eastern Region.

He had his first stint in Parliament on the ticket of NPP in January 2005, but until then, he was the Executive Director at Automotive Springs Ghana Limited, Accra. J. B. Danquah, last Thursday, delivered a speech in Parliament to mark the 51st anniversary of the death of his late grandfather, J. B. Danquah, who was a statesman, pan-Africanist, scholar, lawyer and a historian. Police are yet to make an official statement to the press. Source: Alfred Sarpong
