J.B Danquah’s family relocates from Shiashie home

The wife of the late Member of Parliament (MP) for Abuakwa North, Joseph Boakye Danquah Adu has been evacuated from the Shiashie residence of her husband. The decision by the personnel of the Ghana Police Service and the family of the late MP, Minority Leader in Parliament, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu said on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen is to help deal with the psychological trauma suffered by the woman as a result of the stabbing to death of the late husband. The grandson of the Doyen of Ghana politics was stabbed to death by yet-to-be identified assailants on Tuesday dawn in his home in Shiashie in Accra. The police have since picked five persons for questioning. The leadership of Parliament also adjourned sitting early on Tuesday and later drove to the house to observe at first hand happenings at the location.

The Suame MP said they only met extended family members of the late MP in the house. “The wife is so traumatized and has been sent to her sister’s house together with his children and his mother…I understand they are even looking for a clinical psychologist to attend to her to help her escape the mental trauma that comes with losing a husband in such a manner…,” he said.

Personnel of the Ghana Police Service who he said have taken over the house of the late MP also briefed the parliamentary delegation that they have barricaded the room of the MP. The MP, he said, never shared a room with his wife so she was never aware when the assailants attacked. -
