Kumasi: 'I'm prepared to die for NPP' - Kofi Jumah

The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) former Member of Parliament (MP) for Asokwa constituency Kofi Jumah has disclosed that he is ready to sacrifice his life for the party ahead of the November general elections. According to him, he is not afraid to die in the party’s quest to ensure that there is free and fair elections. The leading member of the party asserted that they will not rest until the Electoral Commission (EC) embarks on a validation of the voters’ register before November elections.

‘We will continue to mount pressure on the EC until we are satisfied, we are only demanding what has been given to us by the constitution,’ he indicated.

Asked on Ultimate breakfast show hosted by Julius Caesar Anadem if he was prepared to go behind bars in a probable scuffle during the party’s demonstration in Kumasi, the former Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) replied 'I'm prepared to die."

"Its not a plea but a demand for what is right to be done…it’s their responsibility to do what is right, otherwise they will continue to receive pressure," he said. According to him, the ruling party appointed the EC’s boss and that its the responsibility of the opposition parties which are not part of the appointment to put her on track.
