Life patron of Asante Kotoko the Asantehene, is set to sack the club's board following the shambles that have rocked the Ghanaian giants over the past few days, Manhyia insiders have told Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is said to be angry over the lack of action by the board which has resulted in the club languishing at the bottom of the Ghana Premier League table for the first time in history. The King appeared to be disturbed at the club's current placing on the league table which forced him to storm the training ground unannounced.
His presence at the training ground without the board's presence is a huge indictment on the members he appointed to oversee the success of the club. The ruler of the Ashanti kingdom, who is also the sole owner of the Ghanaian giants, will sack the board in the coming days and replace them with people who are capable of reviving the fortunes of the struggling club.
The Asantehene held pep-talks with players of club at their Adako-Jachie training grounds, a move to calm their nerves amid the row between the management, board and coach David Duncan. The board strongly disagreed with the Opoku Nti led management's decision to freeze David Duncan leading to unrest at the club.
Kotoko is now occupying the last position on the premier league table with just five points from six matches. The management asked the trainer to step aside, a decision that has not gone down well with David Duncan which resulted in him attending training even though players were not present.
